as a scientist I am in Favour of "any Naturally Which tool permits to spread free and easy retrieval of information a year, and I find google one of the most meritorious enterprises that mankind ever produced, from this point of view.
I don't have any article in the belgian press, so I don't need to give you this information (and, in case, I would tell you that I don't care); I have very few in the italian press and I'm happy that they are easily reachable by everybody in the world, and I really regret every single production of mine that isn't, including my scientific production on specialized journals.
By the way, I feel an urge to warn you that the topic of this letter sounds (to me and to most of the people who share the current zeitgeist):
- anachronistic
- pointless
- potentially harmful.
I really care if somebody steals my intellectual work, and this is why I subscribed to Assucopie. But I don't care, and I'm happy, if my intellectual work reaches a wide audience.
If you continue this action against google (of which I was not informed when I subscribed) I will be forced, although with great regret, to ask you to cancel my association with you.
By the way I'm surprised by the whole thing: if I publish an article on a journal or newspaper and this publishes it also on the web (freely, i.e. without any access restriction), I should be aware of the fact that anybody can freely access it. So what is the problem with google? If I gave no authorization for free access, I have to blame the newspaper and not google.
In effetti I remember that about a year ago, suddenly disappeared from www.google.be 'the search bar, replaced by a notice explaining that there were legal problems. But hard 'half-day, during which I used other domains.
